Tahoe is one of those places I truly check out and move at that slower mountain pace. Tahoe time. Also because Tahoe always means soaking up r&r with family and friends.
We kicked off this past weekend with dinner and drinks at Sunnyside with friends (a must ~ and always gives me all of the nostalgia as I have been coming here since I was a kid)... boating on the lake, naps in the sun while the kids played soccer, happy hour, bbqing and s’mores by the fire on repeat. Flip flops and swimsuits by day ~ and in my sweats by happy hour is pure Northern CA summer bliss and the true me at my roots. No makeup. Lake showers. Sunkissed kiddos running around. The best.
I packed light for lake life... cropped denim, a fisherman knit and a sweatshirt for those chilly evenings and boat rides. A swimsuit, sunglasses, baseball cap, sneakers for hiking… and plenty of sunscreen is truly all you need in Tahoe. Very low-key.
This would be my version of that dressier lake life… but honestly when I’m there I’m lucky if I brush my hair…
Sweater. Top. Shorts. Sunglasses. Dress. Necklace (also here). Bag. Shorts.
Layering with La Ligne (code: ALICIA10)
When it comes to lounge attire ~ I lived in lots of Varley this weekend. These shorts and this zip up are my all-time Varley faves!! Trust me and order if you’re looking for new lounge attire… this set is the softest.
I also always toss in a Jenni Kayne sweater * when traveling and my sweats
* (code: ALICIA15)
Love a good lounge around set for travel / that you can sleep in but also hang most of the morning in while sipping your coffee... and look somewhat presentable if staying in a house with friends.
I also packed this easy dress for evening that I put on after jumping in the water! Here is another great t-shirt dress for summer.
And this dress is an absolute must for summer! It’s a little longer on me (I’m in size 2 and 5’1’’) which I like for a breezy style. It’s a boxier shape for those HOT summer days and also has a nice thickness to it to not be see-through.
Bedhead and that morning cup of coffee with a view!
Willow in my fave Dôen pjs. She’s due for a larger size up! I also love Petite Plume pjs (I just got this summer style for Willow), LAKE or pjs from Gap are my usual go-to’s for them.
Also a summer / Tahoe necessity for the kids. Rex came home and wanted the white pair like his best friend.
And now on my summer wishlist after seeing what a great size this soft cooler Yeti bag is for traveling. Could I call this a gift for Tanner this Father’s Day?!!
Sunglasses. Ear Cuff. T-shirt. Stacked Rings (also here). Denim Jacket. Shorts. Swimsuit. Bag. Waterproof Sandals.
Tahoe is very casual… but one way to jazz up your denim / lounge-sweats situation for evening happy hour is with your jewelry story. I’m currently obsessing over everything from By Pariah if you’re in the market for a rad splurge piece!!! These pendants are so cool for a simple summer layering piece. And I can’t get enough of these ring stacks.
Also, I wore a stack of Eriness hoops / ear cuffs this weekend. I like the standard size hoops layered with the medium hoops (if you have two holes). It looks so good!!
This is also an ideal lake life long sleeve situation. Sharing all of striped inspo if you’re thinking about your 4th of July attire too!
Sunglasses. Sweater (longer version!). Sunglasses. Swimsuit. Lounge Pants (another great linen pair). Jeans. Bag. Sandals (these are a summer / Tahoe necessity).
Ok I have never thought of rolling my sleeves up that high how chic!!! I love!!
I LOVE your edits. ♥️♥️♥️
