Event Dressing! | From Weddings to Pilates
From my husband's bday dinner to pilates... some looks I'd want to wear.
Nothing makes me happier than giving you guys some inspiration for what to wear to various events (and seeing how you styled things afterwards!!)… brings me all the joy!
Since I wasn’t able to get back to all of your Q’s in a recent IG Q&A (should I do these more often?) ~ here are a few more looks I pulled together that hopefully spark some event dressing inspiration for you and answer some of those you sent my way! xx
40th Bday Dinner | Denim Jacket. Black Dress. Green Necklace. Fish Necklace.
Fall Wedding Guest | Sunglasses. Dress. Heels.
- This denim jacket was a favorite find while browsing this past week! I would toss it or an oversized leather jacket over a dress / skirt for any more casual gathering or happy hour. (Another denim jacket / denim brand I’m loving at the moment).
- I just ordered this dress to as an option for my husband’s 40th birthday dinner in Napa! I have a number of dresses in my closet of course but at the last minute I was craving something a little sexier?! Also, it’s going to be cooler than I had anticipated. We shall see how it looks on me!
- Let me tell you ~ if you’re looking for a comfier high-heel option, whether for work or a special event, try Sarah Flint’s Perfect Sandals! I have tried a number of their styles over the years and they’re beautiful (Italian made leather). Their sandals / loafers / heels have a built in arch support and padding that make them *beyond* comfy in the world of heels.
* If you work in a more corporate office setting the Perfect Pumps are the best classic style (these come in a number of colors and have three heel heights ~ the 50 is a 2 inch heel, 85 a 8.3 inch heel and 100 which is a 4 inch heel).
Oh and I have a code for Sarah Flint too! if you’d like: ALICIA-15 for 15% Off
The Look | Dress is older Dries. Perfect Sandals (wearing the 100 here).
- I like to check TRR for Dries now and then ~ here is a floral skirt from the same collection as my dress above ~ it’s such a pretty one!! And another pretty floral skirt. Oh! and this dress would be pretty for a wedding guest look. I’d wear that one with a heel color that doesn’t necessarily go like purple or a darker green would be cool.
- More Dries love ~ this wrap skirt!!! which I would just wear with just a tee! Also love these pants and this dress for a possible creative job / work event (now on sale on NAP).
More Event Dressing Options:
Cocktail event but will be HOT (minimal chic ~ the low back is the best part)
If you’re craving color (I’d probably need to chop the length but this is fun!). And this one from Christopher Esber too.
A patterned knit skirt that you could dress up with a heel and jacket (under $200)
Fall Black Tie Wedding (under $300) and another similar simple dress but the back makes it
Corporate Event Crowd | Dress. Tote Bag. Sculptural Silver Ring.
Happy Hour | Sunglasses. Satin Jacket. Denim. Sandals.
I am picturing styling of this satin jacket worn as a top just buttoned a few at the top or thrown over a loose thin knit tank.
This ring (Agmes x Simone Simone Bodmer-Turner) is rad!!!
And if you’re looking for a very chic conservative timeless dress you’ll wear for years ~ this one is so flattering with the wrap-tie waist. And this one too. I’d wear it with interesting earrings and stacked rings to add some personality!
Pilates but make it cute | Oversized Tee. Biker Shorts. Flip Flops. Sunglasses. Denim Jacket. Libra Charm Necklace. Earrings.
These are my absolute favorite biker shorts (and this slightly longer version).
Double stacked earrings!! Obsessed with these for a splurge piece.
