How I Think About Styling More Feminine Prints and Color

With the warmer weather I’ve been craving more feminine pieces, print and color in the mix. When styling these more romantic pieces I usually feel most myself by balancing the look with darker or edgier accessories. A black sandal (or unexpected colored sandal), minimal or edgier jewelry or sunglasses usually grounds the look for me. Or topping the dress with an oversized denim jacket.
I pulled together a few high-low summer looks for all of the upcoming celebrations and pool days. I’m pretty particular when it comes to overly feminine dresses but this one in particular is really speaking to me and would be my ideal dress to wear to any summer bbq, baby shower, graduation or wine country date!
A few other dress options in a similar silhouette ~ this dress was a staple for me last summer... and if you’re feeling more feminine / color ~ here’s a pretty green floral… and I just tried this floral dress on yesterday and it’s even better in person. All are nice breezy styles and easy to style with sandals and flats. And depending on your summer office style could be worn to work as well with a blazer or light sweater.
These have been my most worn sunglasses this season (in the brown) ~ they’re very flattering on more narrow faces. I’ve tried a few other pairs on recently and nothing quite compares. Classic but still feel a bit more unique.
I’ve had cotton shorts on my mind as we head to Mexico next week… and how pretty is this pair?! I’m really feeling the more romantic embroidery as mentioned in previous posts this season. I would balance the feminine with a black swimsuit and accessories.
