My Ideal Low-Key Day in Wine Country.
Sonoma day trip and a greater wine country quick list of favorites.

For any out of town friends or someone who isn’t as familiar with wine country ~ the area can feel overwhelming. It’s actually a bit more spread out than you may realize and best to map out your trip based on which wineries / area you want to spend the most time in. Sonoma and Napa are my usual day trips as these areas are closest in proximity to me... and where I have wine memberships. I have my Sonoma day trip routine down… so here’s the move for a truly relaxing day or weekend in Sonoma.
My Ideal Day in Sonoma:
First of all, I’m a light weight who seems to get an instant headache when I am over served in the wine department (thank you late 30’s!) … so I stick to one winery a day. Also, I don’t know about you, but I just cannot give up any days being hungover at all anymore… and I now prefer my wine country dates to be more food heavy and lounge / sunshine / spa-indulgent with a side of wine tasting. I’m a big proponent of a girls Napa spa date as a way to actually come back home feeling refreshed. So I choose one winery and usually plan my day around that with a lunch and perhaps some spa time / walking around the square in the mix.
From wine tasting to the pool … in my dream tote for a spa day:
Swimsuit. Sunglasses. Dress. Skirt. Fringed Knit Dress. Sandals. Tote.
Sonoma: this is my move for the ideal day in wine country…
