This has been my most requested post and yet I’ve been struggling a bit to pull this together as I’m not feeling very inspirational here… I’ve been living in the same denim and tees on those grassy sidelines. On a Saturday morning rush to the fields I’m not doing much to pull myself together. I’m more focused on getting my coffee… and that Rex is dressed in the right color jersey for the game!! BUT I will say, I feel most myself when I’m wearing jewelry with my sweatshirts / tees... and hiding the bags under my eyes with a swipe of tinted spf and sunglasses. And after looking at the images I pulled together that’s exactly the combination I always come back to!! The basics… but with the accessories that make me feel like me. This is my mom-life everyday look in general. The jewelry, sunglasses and sandals that give a simple look that us-factor. A little edge... or polished. A little casual cool-mom.
Okay take from this what you want as far as inspiration… some of these are just more about the accessories or vibe (i.e: I’m not wearing a strapless top to Rex’s 9am soccer game but I am wearing baggy jeans with a tee, sandals, woven bag and hair in a bun!!)… enter your own color scheme / what you’re into!
* Depending on the weather ~ this fall version still feels like the vibe too! And if it’s warmer, replace the jeans with a short (or easy cotton dress if you’re more of a dress person).

A Few Of My Sports Mom Essentials |
The Tees |
Éterne has great tee and tanks styles. This tee has been my most worn lately. I love the oversized fit which is a great one for the front tuck / styling or even working out in. It’s super soft, and is just the right amount of sheer. I also have this tee in both cream and black (size up because this style runs snug). Another great tank from Éterne that I like.
Another simple tank I own and wear a lot in the warmer months (in both white and black). It’s a really flattering cut and style... and just always looks cool with denim.
I’ve also been a long time fan of Theory’s slub tee. This oversized v neck in white and black are soccer mom vibes. Also, this boyfriend striped linen tee. Just add black shorts!
Longer Shorts |
I’m really feeling the longer shorts this season although I’ve tried a few styles now without any luck so I’m realizing I’ll have to chop the length if I want a pair that will fit me. Size down in these! (The Parker is a good not as long denim option).
Also linen shorts (20% off)… as a comfy on-the-sideline option with an oversized tee!
The Sweatshirt |
A gray / black sweatshirt is a must for those early mornings on the way to the game. I have been also living in this gray sweatshirt as it feels like that ideal vintage one you’ve owned for years. Soft, and nice oversized comfy fit.
The Look | Sweatshirt. Box Chain Necklace. Faux Diamond Necklace (also here)… I like to layer with this one as it’s more of a choker length on me.
A Great No-Show T-Shirt Bra |
A very comfy no-show bra ~ that feels like a sports bra under your white tees.
Woven Leather Bag |
My most carried bag for sports events / after school activities. I’m not overly precious with mine. I’ll drop it right in the grass or on the ground and the leather has held up really beautifully over the years. It’s a great mom-bag size and fits more than enough / all the snacks, coloring activities, magazines etc. and then some.
Lightweight Jacket |
A spring lightweight jacket… another similar option if you’re looking for a lighter color.
I’m also really loving my windbreaker from K-Way (another spring style). They come in a bunch of colors and are a great tissue thin jacket shell (easy for tossing in your bag)… that actually breaks the wind and will keep you warm without the bulk.
The Look | Cos Jacket (sold out now ~ something similar). Leggings. Socks. Sneakers.
The Socks |
I’ve shared these socks before but this is finally the pair that I’ve found that work the best over leggings.
The House Clog |
Back home ~ I quickly change into these for around the house. They have a nice cushion to them for walking around on our wood floors… beyond comfy! I’m on my second pair (I own them in Dove and black).
Minimal Beauty |
I’m slathering on my spf (something really light… I've gone back to using this one again recently) with a quick spot concealing with my Westman Atelier Foundation. This is a new lip treatment addition in my bag this week. I’m a clear gloss fanatic and this one is ultra-hydrating! Obsessed.
Also! a new mineral sunscreen to try / know ~ Good Weather Skin. It’s a mineral sunscreen that blends in really nicely without leaving any white residue. I just spent the day with the founder in Napa last week (we met doing yoga next to each other!) and was so inspired by her founder journey. Also a great small size to keep in your bag.
This is a nice tissue thin softer long sleeve for layering under sweaters (it’s been cooler in the mornings and evenings)... and this is a nice snug fit for underneath.
Sweater (code: ALICIA15). Tee. Jeans. Ballet Flat (something similar, also cute for spring)
And lastly this is a really comfy knock-around pair of jeans for mom life under $150. They’re a barrel leg which adds to the comfort level, in a nice lighter wash for spring. I like the dart detailing at the knees. I took my true size in these (they’re slightly baggy but a good comfy fit)! And they have a raw hem so if you need to cut them shorter you can ~ although I actually didn’t need to!
Great recommendations. Thank you! Also, who makes beige clasp clutch you are carrying in one of the photos?Thank you.
Love this post, hope you’ll do another for sideline outfits in heat of summer!! ❤️
